Topic: Pedal height and travel on ABC pedals |

I have a Sho Bud Pro 3 and I need some advice on my pedals. Should all the pedals reach bottom of travel when depressed or should A and C travel farther than B? Someone tell me please the right adjustment or is this the proper setting?  |

If your not hitting the floor with ur pedals,they must be tuned correctly.Those pedals must be tuned just as the keys are.Look up E 9th tuning and tune the pedals also.I don't have the addy for the tuning But its on the net.If they hit the floor you will have to raise them up.I will go look for the addy but its on this forum also.

| I don't think tuning is my problem , what I'm asking is this...when I deprees my B pedal it does not tavel as far as A & C so I have to rock my foot more to get A&C to finish their travel. Should all the pedals travel the same distance? |

| It is perfectly normal that the B floor pedal (E9) has less travel than either the A or the C pedals. B is only a half step change and A and C are both full step changes. |

| If you are mechanically inclined and want to change it, here goes. The way to change the length of travel of each pedal is to change pull rods location on the levers on the bell cranks under the steel. By lengthing the B pedals pull it will be traveling with the A pedal so they begin together and bottom out at the same time and level. Most of the steels with Nashville tuning have ABC pedals level at the beginning and end of the pull. With the Day system setup some players, myself included, prefer the C pedal to start a little higher than the B pedal and stop slightly higher than the B pedal. This allows for an easy pickup of the C pedal with a twist of your foot on its heel when desired. Mark the location of the rod in the lever before you move it. If it goes shorter instead of longer you can return to original then go the other way and try that. Good luck and Happy steelin. |

ray..i think what you might want to know is this: the pedals move different distances. you might want to set them so they all bottom out at about the same spot. this will make one or two sit at different heights in the unused position.
i set mine so they bottom out in a comfortable position for my foot. |
