I am a PSG buff, building my own, and playing (use the term very loosly) and have had the desire to build a whirlygig that has a PSG theme. Well this past winter I dod it.It is made of all non-rusting metals; i.e. aluminum, brass and stainless steel. It has six ball bearing races, an 18" prop, and the larger parts like the tail or vertical fin are of sheet aluminum (like they wrapp windows and doors with) fabrication with pop rivets. There are around 170 pop rivets in this particular on. The head turns left and right, the left hands move as if using a bar,the left legs work up and down like your pushing the A&B pedals. the right legs also move but very small amount of travel and they are almost unnoticable. The tail is made to resemble a Peavey Nashville 400. I wonder who the player resembles?

My father built quite a few whirly-gigs (mostly in the PA Dutch style) before he passed a few years ago.
My question is "what does it sound like?" You need to build another one with wind chimes or bells in the amp. Maybe little hammers on the crank to hit the bells.
Thanks for your comments also. I have often thought about adding some sort of sounds, and with todays electronic PICS and the like, it could be done. I have thought about lights, bells and whistles, and who knows, maybe something like that will happen. Thanks again Glenn
