Don,

Thanks ever so much for the bump! Although today's show is lots of Herb Remington and big band standards I also fit in your beautiful version of "Shenandoah" from your upcoming CD as well as requests and new material.

Mike,
I was talking to Herb yesterday between shows and I told him you were featuring him on your show today. He was real happy about that and asked me to convey his thanks.

I'll sure be listening!

Herb has always been one of my favorites also.
I had the pleasure of having dinner with Herb and Hal Rugg in the early 90's after a PSGA show in Armonk NY. Two super human beings. So tune in and listen to some classic Herb Remington and others today on Mike's Swingin' West Show.

Mike, due to computer problems I did not know about the tribute to Herb and missed it. I first met Herb in the 40's when he was with Bob Wills. When he settled in Houston in the early 50's I jumped at the chance to study under him much to his disgust. He always told me I was too lazy to play. He was the one that got me interested in doing tabs so at least I learned something from him. He was a great teacher and person back then and we have remained friends to this day nearly 60 years later. www.billchaviers.com

Bill,

I am sure that Herb values your friendship very much. He is a class human being. The show went very well. I am sorry that you missed it. I always play a lot of Herb on "Swingin' West." Do join us any week.

Herb is my friend and has done some special things to encourage me after being out of playing for 30 years. My time traveling with him in Austria is a memory maker. I pray that he and Mel will continue to celebrate many more happy birthdays.
Sincerely, Bob and Carol

Mike-Thanks for playing Herb's classic great music on Swinging West.
I have always like his playing, way back then.

I had the good fortune to meet him in Grand Rapids at LT.Zinn's HOF Fundraising show and we had a nice talk about tunings. he has a great 4 pedal tuning that gets it all....al Image
