We, the IFCA, will be showcasing several artists at the Bluegrass Inn on Broadway during the CMA's Fan Fair or Music Festival. Possibility we might need a steel player or two. The times and days are Wed., Thurs. and Friday. June 8, 9 & 10th. Showcases will be 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. Showcases will be about one hour long. Aaron Kelly might need a steel player Thurs. and Friday 3-4 p.m. Jenna Christine will need a steel player Wed., Thurs. and Friday 1:15-2:45. If any of you Broadway steel players will be available for any of those showcases, email me and we'll see what can be worked out. Both Aaron and Jenna will be hiring Nashville musicians for their showcases.
The CMA turned us down again this year. We had a booth for 10 years and didn't meet the criteria. Really odd because our Aaron Kelly, 5th place on the American Idol last year, did get a booth and meets non of the criteria. We are really happy for Aaron but really dissapointed with Steve Moore, the CEO of the CMA, for turning us down. Quite apparent that he wants nothing to do with the history of country music. Under his leadership the CMA's annual festival has turned in to a rock fest. Rock is where Steve Moore came from. SHAME-SHAME-SHAME on the CMA and CEO Steve Moore.
Thanks,
Dave A. Burley
