I picked up both of their CDs last week, and all I can say is WOW! Great song writing, she has a great voice, and Country Dave is THE MAN on steel and tele. Very tasty playing all the way through. Also some nice mandolin playing which blends beautifully with the pedal steel.
A big thanks to Zoe for featuring the steel so prominently.
A big thanks to Dave for some great E9 chops - I hope you don't mind but I'm trying my best to steal them...haha
Dave if you get a chance would you mind sharing what type of guitars/amps you used on these sessions?
Here is a link to listen to and BUY their albums: http://zoemuth.com/music.html

That's very kind Randy. You're welcome to steal away as I've stolen everything I know from somewhere.
The gear on the first CD was a GFI Ultra keyless into a Hilton pedal, Boss RV 3 and Fender Vibrosonic. Most of my guitar on the first CD was a G&L ASAT through the same Vibosonic with a Boss ME50 multi-effects unit. There were a couple of guitar overdubs I played thru a Fender Blues Junior. I played my Deneve dobro on two tunes, my D 28 on a couple and a Carl Barney archtop acoustic on one tune.
The new CD I played a Sho~Bud Pro 1 through the Hilton, RV 3 into a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. The G&L through an SDG Vintage ('59 Fender Deluxe clone). I played a Gibson SG 1 on Starlight Hotel, and the Deneve on Tired Worker Song.
We will be in Bristol TN for Bristol's Rhythm and Roots Reunion Sept 17 and 18.
Thanks again for the nice words. _________________ www.facebook.com/countrydaveharmonson |

Thanks for the reply Dave. I guess now I have my "gear shopping list" Your guitar tone on Starlight Hotel is great by the way. Also to me your steel tone is very similar on both albums... hmmm maybe it is really in the hands after all!
Bristol is a couple of hours from me, maybe I can check out the show this fall.
Also I have to say "The Lost High Rollers" is probably the best band name. EVER. |
