Installed a new pu on a 82' MSA model. Is there a certain type input jack that should be used instead of the one that came with the guitar. Removed all of the original wiring and tone controls. Was wondering if a certain type is needed to go from pu to jack to amp? Thanks.

No, I use Switchcraft 1/4" female jacks. They are cheap, easy to find and last forever.
