As I mentioned in the e-mail notice, I hope to have an Eminence 15" prototype speaker available for anyone to try at the jam.

Moved from Bushnell to Zephyrhills today. Will be doing our final show in Tampa tomorrow with Debbie Myers, then relax for a couple weeks before we head north.
Plan on being at the jam next week. Will bring my 'lite' outfit this time. Very Happy
SEE YA THERE! Cool Winking

Skip, Eminence didn't give me any possible production information. I know the manager that contacted me said it's being tested by a couple of Nashville pickers.

Looking at what Ken Fox posted on the Electronics section of the forum it may be shelved due to the apparent big increase in the material for the Neodymium magnet.

I have the Eminence "PS15" speaker (4 ohms)cabinet finished and the speaker installed. I'll bring it with me Wednesday evening. Don't know if I'll have the cabinet done for the SICA and it installed, for comparison.

Initial thoughts with the Eminence is that it sounded like the JBL K130 I had in a Twin Reverb amp, when I tested it with my wife's GFI S-10 with the stock GFI II pickup (basically a George L's E66). Then when I tested it with my Franklin and Lawrence 710's I thought it had too much high and mid. But after playing it for a while and getting it "broke in" it's sounding better and better. I had to cut the Treble, and both Mid controls and increase the Low EQ in the MB200 with my Franklin.

Eminence was shooting for a speaker that could compete with the Peavey 1501-4 that's used in later Nashville 400's and in Nashville 1000's and Session 2000's. According to Mike Brown at Peavey the Black Widow 1501 was built because the JBL's they were using would not handle the power. Thus the Eminence PS15 is right on with sounding like a 1501 and JBL.

I have both speakers finished and will have both at the jam for anyone to try out tonight. I especially would like comments on the Eminence "PS15" prototype speaker as I'll pass the comments on to Eminence.

Dave, the Eminence "PS15" weighs about 9 lbs, the SICA weighs 6.6 lbs (3 Kg).

The Eminence in cabinet is 25 lbs. The cabinet is the same outside dimension as a Nashville 112 except 1" taller (21X17X10).

The SICA in cabinet is 21 lbs. The speaker cabinet outside dimension is 17 3/4 X 17 3/4 X 10".

Both were made with 1X pine boards.

One person in the audience, yesterday, came up to the stage when we took a break and wanted to know what model "JBL" I was using - referring to the Eminence PS15.

Well, the Manasota crowd didn't make it either thanks to a 75mph blowout on I-75 just north of Ruskin. Clyde called AAA and we were able to limp home on the donut spare.

Oh, well......

Wow!! Very Happy
What a night.
The crowd was really into it last night and were having a super time.

The two speakers Jack tested out both sounded great.
It is a hard choice which one is better to me as it all depends on tweaking the MB200 power amp EQ settings.

Thanks so much to Cal Akers and Andy Young filling in on guitar and bass because our friends from the Manasota club had the above mentioned tire problem.

Fred Thompson and George O'Neil got a great send-off
from the very enthusiastic audiance last night.

It was nice to see our fellow steeler and friend Larry Danley at his steel. He's been busy playing steel with the Haywood Henson Band.
