Well, I don't have any comment for that video but I went to the BMI website a few months ago and bought Eddie Longs CD's (one is pure country and the other jazz). I have heard a lot of pickers in my 62 years but Eddie is the very best at combining the E9th/B6th sound that I have ever heard. He quickly became my favorite steeler for the time being. I hope more people will be able to hear these CD's.

KR and Jamey Johnson are in town tonight. I assume Eddie is going to be with them. I'd love to see and hear Cowboy, but I don't think the concert is for me. Anyhow, the ticket is pricey.

Just a heads up for anybody in the area that would like to see this show. It's at the "Bucket" in downtown Louisville.

Cowboy Eddie Long has been a favorite of mine for a long while. He can play any style of music as good as any of 'em.

i do. i would prefer someone with talent and sensitivity and a healthy role model persona to be rewarded with success. they could just as easily introduce steel to the masses.

Many of you have already made up your minds. Kid Rock, George Strait, Jewel, Trace Atkins and the list goes on
doesn't matter ya can't please everyone. Why be negative about an artist that hires pedal steel?

Maybe its that GD rapper persona his label projects him as.
As I understand the real kid rock spent allot of time up in the up of Michigan. Into hunting ,fishing, classic muscle cars, all the stuff "normal people" like myself like!!!!

The song "picture" with Cheryl Crow was probably as "counry" as anything put out at the time.
I'm not saying I am going out to by a bunch of Kid Rock CD's , but I'm just saying its the labels that dictate how their image will be portrayed to the masses. In my book Kid rock is probably more country than Kenny Chestnutz. Not to be confused with Mark Chestnut who is as Country as they come. Slim Namaguci man. Holy cow.

I dunno.......I kinda like Kid Rock....at least some of his stuff & the duets he's down with some of the artists. I'd jump a gig with him & then maybe I could quit the PD

As much as I love traditional country I was attracted to the steel through non traditional music. Besides

It sure did when it came to Ernest Tubbs. He hired the greatest steel players ever. Even using the Big E. it didn't help. I alway thought Tubbs sucked.Oh well >:-)I did love his bands. Joe

I have had the pleasure to work with Kid Rock doing TV shoots as well as studio work and regardless of whether you like his music or not, he is an extremely generous person, a very professional and hard working individual, and very knowledgeable of many genres of music. He has a true love for country music and the steel guitar. On the first TV show we did (CMT's Crossroads 2002?)against the wishes of his management at the time, he featured the steel on a couple of songs. And weeks later, I was up in Detroit working with him in his studio which was really a treat. He was very interested in the steel and what it could do and we experimented on a few different tracks. One of those tracks ended up on the album "Kid Rock", a song called "Hillbilly Stomp".....
