Let me jump in here also.
Jim is quick to help everyone - friend or stranger.
He works his you know what off at the steel shows repairing steel guitars for folks!!
A GREAT guy - so glad he has a shop out here on the west coast!
Thanks Jim..
Ron

P.S. It is NO surprise that Jim donated a pedal steel -
sounds just like the Jim I know.
"Tone is in the hands. Unless your wife will let you buy a new amp. Then it's definitely in that amp."

We need to turn the TWANG up a little

It's not what you play through, it's what you play through it.

They say that tone is all in the fingers...I say it is all in your head :)

Some of the best pieces of life are the little pieces all added up..Ron

the value of friendship. Old friends shine like diamonds, you can always call them and - most important - you can't buy them.

We might not be seeing Jim too much in the near future....it's opening day for the San Diego's Padres....but as is his way, he'll be outstanding in his field.

In Praise of Jim Palenscar

Post by Will Bartell »

At the risk of being Ricky Redundant, I, too, would like to add my praise and thanks to Jim. I recently had the good fortune to visit him at his shop and pick up my new S-10. I had neglected to specify a couple of needs to GFI, and damn, if Jim didn't go in the back, machine the parts, and install them, all in about half an hour. For which he didn't charge me nearly enough! A true gentleman, incredibly nice guy, and pedal steel Hall of Famer for sure!

I too can attest to Jim's generosity!! After a harrowing day at the Dallas Steel show I was in need of a wee bit of rheumatis medicine, and who of all people to come to my rescue!

If I had known you share Thai food as well, I would have hit you up for that instead!!
