Legrand Finger ????

Post by Martin Weenick »

Can anyone tell for sure, is this Emmons finger for a LeGrande or a push pull. I am not that familliar with Emmons parts. I dont see how this finger can lower a string. I thought the LeGrande finger had a little tail piece hanging down from the top part. The top of the finger just flops around in all directions. Thanks, Martin.

On the back side, does it have the bent over pieces that have 2 or 3 holes in each for the rods to go through?

Wow you're good. You posted the pics that answered my question at the same time I asked.

They look like all pull fingers to me.

Finger

Yes it is a 3 raise and 2 lower but nothing that I can see controls the top of the finger, it has no stops of any kind and the little bent over piece of metal is not on the lowering finger to push the top part forward so it can lower a string.

Martin, It looks to me like the rivet through the finger and into the raise finger is what controls the raise and lower here.

Legrand finger

Post by Andy Hinton »

It is definitely a Legrande all pull finger. I have 2 just like it. I copyed it 10 times in my small shop. made a complete changer when I converted a worn out Push-pull to all-pull. It worked & still has the P-P sound. so it's in the cabinet not the changer. Andy H. p/s built a Shobud changer for the C6 neck. a lot less complicated to build & it works too. Guitar NOT for sale. :) A. H.

Definitely a Legrande finger. I took my Legrande II apart to clean the changers, and that's identical to the changers on mine.

Andy, I'd like to see some photos of that guitar if you have them. Just curious...sounds pretty interesting. What alloy did you use for the bridge part of the finger?

Legrand finger

Ryan; I used the fingers of the push-pull, just cut the long tail off & adapted it to the two other parts that I made using a minimill & a metal bandsaw. It took a while but worked out fine. Give me a pm if you'd like more details. Andy H.
