Clinesmith guitars are some of the best non-pedal guitars being built today, in my opinion. You will not regret your purchase.

Todd was at Weiser last year with a couple of his guitars. Even played through a little battery powered amp, they sounded fabulous! If I could afford one of his steels, I would buy it in a heartbeat!

Todd's workmanship and attention to detail is second to none, and he is a prince of a fellow!

I read everything I could on the topic, corresponded with Mike Neer and others and came to the conclusion that Clinesmith is a great choice. I've ordered a D-8 and can't wait. Check the posts in this string and you can hear Mike Neer, Mark Roeder, and Bob Hoffnar play their Clinesmiths. Beautiful!

Todd makes incredible instruments. I have not played his pedal guitars, but I've had 2 D-8s here and my lap steel, which I play all the time. You can listen to some sound clips of these guitars here:

I live about 15 miles away from him and have been to his shop a couple of times. You can't imagine the craftsmanship he puts into these things. We frequent the same hardware suppliers and machine shops, and these guys are always amazed with Todd's standard of perfection.

Long story short: Great guy...great guitars

Todd's guitars are great....look, feel, sound...the real deal (and I must say, Mark Roeder's stand makes it even better...remarkably so).

My number 1, which also happens to be serial #001 along with the original Bigsby. The attention to detail and quality of Todd's work is second to none and the sound of the instrument is magnificent. Todd is Bigsby's worthy successor.
