I have several Peavey Power slide guitars. One I have to a G tuning and ther other to an E tuning.
Since I play a universal 12 string E9/B6 pedal steel, how would you suggest I tune one of the Power Slide guitars to a B6?
Any suggestions are appreciated,

Len, I play a universal, and got a powerslide (my first lap steel) and pondered the same thing. I ended up just going C6 CEGACE. IMO it was a better trade off, all the C6 learning material would be right there and adjusting from B6 to C6 was not a big issue, in fact having the open C, Am, etc, was great. Also, when you play with B6, and C6, you can more easily play in any key, ie: In C6, band tells you song is in Eb...I just think like a guitar player or E9 player and play out of G at the third fret, if that makes sense. One more thing , I now have been tuning my low C to C# for the C6/A7 tuning, that really opened up alot of possibilities. Check out Mike Neer`s blog for a wealth of info, Jim |

My Power Slide is tuned to A11 lo to high AC#EGBD. Gives you major, diminished, minor, dom 7, and a second major with no slants. Alot like B11. |

If one wanted to add two strings for an 8 string A11 tuning.....what would you suggest? |

I never played a B11 or A11 tuning but it looks like the weak point if the tuning is that you can't play intervals of 4ths or 6ths (at least not without slanting the bar.) So I might add high C and E, or A in the middle. |
