Hi all,
I've just taken delivery of a well-worn Mosrite Dobro, square neck, serial number 51191. I've discovered that it is the 'Uncle Josh' model, from between 1963-6?
Picture attached, any info. appreciated.
This is my second Mosrite, I owned a Maple 12-string back in the '70s, had to sell it to help pay for my wedding. Doh! I've been reading some fairly heavy Mosrite/Dobro history on a 2009 thread, all I can say is that I really loved the 12-string, and I'm delighted with my square neck purchase. The pick-up isn't the original I suspect, see photo. Anyway, I've attached some Dobro correspondence from the past when I was dating (not that sort of dating!)my 12-string. Hope it's of interest. Back from the days when we wrote letters and posted them!
Regards from County Cork, Ireland.

That looks like the model D40-SE according to the Mosrite Dobro® catalog posted on the Notecannons website.

Interesting that we've had two such discussions in the past week.
