Can any of you guys see any way a Hipshot Xtender or Trilogy-type device could work on this steel? Or does anyone else make similar products? I'd greatly appreciate any advice.

Steve, unless you somehow can add an extension to the tail of your steel, I'm going to say no.

Hipshot isn't a giant monolithic company. It's a small family run business with only about a dozen employees.

Dave Borisoff, Hipshot's founder and owner, is also a musician. He plays banjo, Dobro, and pedal steel guitar. He's also a really nice guy. He'd probably be happy to rig up something for you.

BTW I have an S-8 that was once half a stringmaster, that has retrofitted with a trilogy bridge, that I wish to sell.

You can see how I handled a Trilogy changer on this guitar.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't have that much hope, due to the tuners and bridge location, but thought it was worth a shot. Mike, I may contact Hipshot to see if they have any ideas.
