Interesting to see and hear Tyler Hall playing his S10 Mullen through a big Roland amp in Joe Nichols band at the CMC Rocks The Hunter festival here near Sydney Australia on the week end. I couldn't see which model amp it was but its sounded great.
Take good care Y'all... Nick

Great to hear from you Bob. Alan Jackson was awesome. We danced on the grass under the stars to "Don't Rock The Juke Box" with the "Man" himself singing just 20 feet away. Now I reckon it don't get no better than that.

For you other Forum members. We just had a big CMC festival here near Sydney Australia. As well as many of our own great Aussie Artists we also had Alan Jackson (USA), Joe Nichols(USA, Emerson Drive (CAN), Dean Brody (CAN), Jack Ingram (USA), Buxton Hughes (USA) Aussie, Jed Hughes plays lead guitar in Jack Ingram's band and O'Shea (USA). All of this over two days and nights in the great outdoors in one of our country's best wine growing districts. It's just good to be alive at times like these. After hearing Robbie Flint, Tyler Hall and our own Mr Michel Rose play their Pedal steels I couldn't wait to get home and torment my beautiful Mullen.

Roger, I love "my" Mullen. Thanks for letting me have it. I have had many positive comments from lots of people when they see and hear it ( even with me playing it).

That's it folks. I know I've rambled on too long again.

Take Good Care, Nick

Hi Kyle,
I found a little bit of Tyler playing "Take These Chains From My Heart" at the Ozark Steel Guitar Association 2008 on U-Tube. I typed in "Tyler Hall Steel Guitar" and up she popped. Hope that helps.

Hey! Thanks guys! I really appreciate the comments. I was using a Roland Jazz Chorus 212 that they provided us for backline. We flew over for that one show only so we had amps provided for us. I'm really glad you guys liked the tone. It was next to impossible to get a clean signal from that amp. I was getting a lot of distortion from it on stage, but it was a pretty good tone. I was using my brand new SD-10 that I just got from Mullen for fly dates. It's an awesome playing and sounding little guitar. I really enjoyed getting to hear Michel. What a great player with great tone. We're gonna be going back over to Australia in a few weeks for a 2 week run. I'll try to post the dates on here for you guys if you can make it out.

I had forgot about that youtube video! Please don't judge my playing based off of that. Laughing That was a few years ago now. I had a very early slot on the steel show after playing a very late gig the night before.

G'day Tyler. Very nice to hear from you. Michel told me he had a nice chat with you backstage. It would be great to catch up when you come back to Australia. You won't remember but I had the pleasure of meeting you and Austin Stewart in the little "Mullen Room" at St Louis in 2008. You two were jamming on your steels and were very hospitable towards me. I was blown away that someone so young could play so well. Take care, Nick

Hi Tyler,
thank you so much for the nice compliment , Like i
said to you backstage I would have gladly given you
full use of my rig if i had known that you had been given a bad Amp , unfortunately by the time i got to talk to you my gear had already been packed and the crew
was putting it in my car . Having said all that , you still sounded great . Its one thing having a good tone
when you have a good amp its another getting a good tone using bad gear . Well done . I'm looking forward
to your upcoming tour , hopefully we can catch up in Sydney .
cheers
Michel.

Michel, I was really knocked out with your playing as well as your tone. You're quite the mando player as well. I'm really hoping that I can round up a little better gear on this next run. Do you know of anyone that would have a Peavey Nashville or something like that they may rent out for a few days? It seems most of the rental companies don't have any kind of steel amp. I really enjoyed getting to chat with you backstage. Hopefully we can get together while we're in Sydney.

Hi Tyler,
The last time i did a flying gig the sound company
had a Peavey 112 for me .i think if you asked , you will get one but not the Session 400 . If you have any problems send me an Email and I'll try to help you as much as i can , of course you can have my gear if i'm not working . In any case we will get you a good Amp.

Michel.

Hey Tyler, Glad you are having such a good time on the road. I hear that I have you to blame for my young one having his first road gig. Wait till I see you!!!!!!!!!!!!! All kidding aside. I was glad he got the job, but sure was sad to see him go. Take care and be safe.
