Guys, I could get you a good rate at the www.airtelplaza.com (405 off at Sherman way west about a mile) in Van Nuys.
They have a few large meeting rooms all on the ground floor. I'm having the AMP SHOW there on May 13th if any one wants to come check it out. I think one room can be opened up to 42' x 25' there's larger rooms too. www.ampshow.com

Again, I'm bummed I had to miss it. I'd really like to see the pics. Did anyone record any of it?
FWIW I'll also check out a venue - our church's building in El Segundo is used fairly often by church member's band rehearsals (I'm talking bar bands, not just worship bands) and I don't think there would be any problem using it. Probably a couple thousand square feet of usable space without moving any chairs, a full sound system with Allen & Heath board, decent acoustics, and plenty of parking. I'll see what I can do...

Thanks Jim and Loni for ideas/energy behind finding a better venue. Good, reasonably prices, very nearby food is a key requirement, too.
I, too, plan to scout the South Bay for places; how many of you would feel that's too far, for whom would it be closer, etc? I don't think there's such a thing as a central location, we're all coming from different spots, what's a few miles one way or t'other? But I'd like to hear from others.

I would like to thank Mike and John for their hard work. They kept me informed on what was needed of the P.A. System. It made my job vey easy. If anyone needs a system for a Jam in the L.A. aera, give me a call at 818-822-8653 and if I have the time I will supply what ever I can.
Pearl Jam was a lot of fun and enjoyment for me. Thanks again to all you great players.

John Hensch, I think the gang needs to designate an official roadie or two for you, you worked harder than anyone toting your PA in and out and running it all dadgummed day, plus pass the hat and buy your lunch! I'm sorry I wasn't able to help, had my own pile of gear to transport, that's my only sorry excuse. But we should do better by you and get you help, I'm feeling guilty! I'm glad you find it enjoyable and worth doing all the same. You're a real help to us all.

I second the motion. And while we're at it, we should buy Jim Baron lunch too. John Hensch, I think the gang needs to designate an official roadie or two for you, you worked harder than anyone toting your PA in and out and running it all dadgummed day, plus pass the hat and buy your lunch!
The contributions of these 2 guys cannot be overstated. Buying them lunch is the least we could do for them next time. We should have done it this last time.
