Looking at the "inlay" work, it appears the builder cut up some wood that was already inlayed. Where the hole for the pickup is, you can see the beginning and end of some sort of cursive writing, like a name or something.

It looks like a 9-stringer, but the pickup only has 6 pole pieces. Confused
