"Cabinet Drop" is a general term that is used to denote ANY detuning in a pedal steel guitar. |

You needn't worry.
The consensus here is that it only occurs in the other person's Steel Guitar. |

Carl, here's a pic of Joey Ace's cabinet drop that pretty well explains what it is. Ray

Looks like someone dropped a cabinet on Joey's body. Now that is a serious cabinet drop. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . The problem I have is when I tune the E9 neck to where I want it, the C6 neck goes flat and when I get the C6 neck tuned then the E9 neck goes flat. Is cabinet drop causing that? Of course my guitar is an old one. _________________ Marlen SD 10 3 and 5,Fender 5 String Banjo, Flinthill 5 string banjo,Johnson Resonator Guitar, Ibanez AFS75T Country/Jazz Guitar. |

Just tighten the strings on the C6 neck up enough to support the weight of your forearms, then tune up the E9 neck and your done. |
