I'm thinking about checking out one of these for guitar, are any of you guys using them for steel? It seems like about 75% of the players on the Phoenix show in January were using POD XT's, so surely the X3 would work well for steel also.

Your opinions will be appreciated. If someone has an X3 they want to get rid of, I would consider it.

Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro.

I have (had) a POD XT, until my wife wanted it for her steel - and who's to argue with a wife (grin). I bought a new X3 model and loaded all my custom steel programs into the X3. It's basically an XT with all the model packs and additional I/O features. They are physically the same size.

I use the x3 pro rack mount. It is great for steel. It has multiple ins and out so that you can set up banks for more than one instrument. Great effects and amp models.
