I'm shopping for a Fender Stringmaster and several options I have do not include a case with the guitar.
Any ideas where I can get an era-appropriate case for any of the three Stringmaster lengths? Preferably tweed?
Thanks,

The cases are rarely in good shape if the guitar has been used a lot. I rebuilt a quad case a few years ago for a friend. (never again !) The fabric covering and leather end pieces are sewed on....right through the wood in the case. If a good deal can be had on the guitar, get a case from Hatton. Period cases are cool, but they only protect the guitar and don't do anything else. |

Short of finding a vintage one, Kevin Hatton makes very nice cases and I'm sure he can fix you up http://www.hattoncases.net/ |
His shipping isn't the greatest though. Someone needs to show him how pack an item and tape a box. |

Thanks guys. Those look great but something about the corners does not quite look like the original. (Perhaps it's improved?)
I'll definitely consider it though. |

I have a Tweed case … but then I would have. Seriously though, I have an original case but the Fender logo is damaged. Is it possible to buy a replacement?

P.S. Sorry for hijacking the thread. |

Chris, for maximum visibility you should start your own topic rather than asking in this topic.
You may be able to find a vintage Fender logo by searching for that phrase using Google, but it will take a while. Good luck on your search.
As to cases, I'd agree that having a period-correct case isn't as important as protecting the instrument itself. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel
