A few non-pedal adaptations of pedal steel tunes
I've enjoyed adapting quite a few pedal steel tunes to non-pedal. Here are a few of them:
Speedy West:
Skiddle-Dee_Boo
Afternoon Of A Swan
Steelin' Moonlight
Buddy Charleton:
Almost to tulsa
Tom Brumley:
Seven Come Eleven
Bud Isaacs:
Bud's Bounce
Buddy Emmons:
Buddy's Boogie
All of these were played on my Clinesmith lap steel or a Clinesmith D-8. I record all the tracks myself using whatever I have laying around for drums, usually a box.
Thanks for listening.

Working on it right now, Peter. It's a tough one and I haven't played it in a while, so I'm notating it measure by measure now.Peter den Hartogh wrote:Hi Mike.
Great stuff!
Buddy's Boogie does not seem to be in your store.

Music of the non pedal steel.
I listened to Mike Play.
Who does he think he;s kidding.
I heard a lot of VERY nice playing.Pitch was great also.
Definatly ,Not as country sounding. But so what!.
I think to play one of those instruments, you would be able to introduce it to any kind of a Band.
Like a five or 6 piece. The sound does;t come out as country, probably the way it is tuned.I have heard afew songs by Billy robinson, and he is also very good, but sounded more country,if I remember right.
Maybe the tuning.I have to dig into to this a little more.First time I have really liked it.
