Roger Light, Thank you for posting that link. I just listened and Jimmy Dickens was never more eloquent. It is so nice to see the Big E recognized by someone like Dickens who isn't a steel player. Great pictures,Ernie and what a joy to see Buddy back on the Opry stage. Hope this is the beginning of something new in your life,Buddy.

Thank you for sharing the photos,Ernie. It's good to see Buddy doing well. Everyone in the steel guitar community loves and respects Buddy. I have never met the man.But, I know who he is.Buddy Emmons is an individual of great charecter. He is forever THE KING OF THE STEEL GUITAR"! LONG LIVE THE KING!!!!!!!

Seeing Jimmy and Buddy together reminds me of pics I've seen of Jimmy and Hank Williams. Here's the man who has survived six decades of country music. He started before there were pedals on steels. Using Walter Haynes, Buddy Emmons, and Jimmy Day, he ushered in a new era of country music, which is still evolving. Thank you, Mr. Dickens.
Scotty brought Tommy to a show I was on at the Louisville Hilton in 1974. I guess Tommy was about 16 at the time. He sat in on my Sho-Bud and showed everybody how the cow ate the cabbage! Do you remember that, Tommy?
The nice thing about family is the grandfathers that we share and look up to.

I took my very 1st steel guitar seminar with Buddy in Armonk, NY in 1987.
I was so in awe of him I just mainly listened to what he had to say.
Thank goodness I taped the seminar back then so I could go home and learn what he showed us.
