1972 ZB D-10 Clean! Update! 8+4!! $1700 + shipping

Post by Adam Goodale »

I'm selling my ZB D-10. very good condition, 8 pedals 4 knees. Emmons set up. The guitar plays well, firm pedals. I am picking the guitar up from Jim Flynn at lonestar steel guitars tomorrow. He went through the guitar, set up all the pedals, levers, and put new tone pots on the guitar. The pedals show no wear at all and the lacquer is in very good condition. This wasn't a guitar that was taken out on road and gigged alot. It has low miles. It comes with the original hsc that is in fair condition. It has been used, but it serves it's purpose. My reasons for selling are; I'm getting married, I'm an emmons guy, there is no need for me to own 4 steel's. This guitar sounds great, and looks even better. I'm asking $1700.00 obo plus shipping for the steel. I would prefer local pick up out of Austin tx, but I am often in Houston and Victoria and can meet almost anywhere in the state within 3 hours of Austin. I can email pictures if you would like. The guitar is a very pretty orange and brown Birdseye lacquer. Thanks for looking! Adam Goodale

That is her!!! It really does sound great. It's not the easiest guitar to play but the tone makes up for it. I picked the guitar up tonight, and to my surprise, there was 4 knee levers installed on the guitar. So fella's, this is a loaded retro ZB. Hard to find! Jim said the tone pots absolutely killed the tone of the pick ups so he by passed them, but the neck selector and the 3 way tone selector switch both work flawlessly so you can get different tones. The guitar is ready to ship and looks almost exactly the same as in the pics above, except it has 2 shiny polished knee levers on the right knee, I'm ready to move this guitar!!!

Quite possible one of the most beautiful specimens of the genus ZB...It now has four knee levers, you say. Well tomorrow night is the lottery, so you may be hearing from me about five minutes after the drawing. The underside looks clean enough to eat off of. Can I come for dinner with your ZB?
Best of luck on the sale, Adam. This truly looks like a great ZB.

Price drop!

Post by Adam Goodale »

Ok then... Another price drop. $1700 plus shipping. I played the guitar this afternoon. And I don't think you can find another guitar with this much tone for 1700 bucks. And it's cool, and pretty!!! What more could you ask for. Serial number on the end plate is 0444... Let's make a deal. Could do a partial trade for ATA road cases for a push pull D10 and a NV 1000. But not interested in any other instruments. Let's make a deal. I want this guitar gone. Thanks!!!

And Duncan, come on down! Take her for a spin, but bring your snow chains. It's in the high teens tonight down here in central Texas.

With a proper setup by Billy Knowles or Greg Jones that guitar will play like butter. It needs to be setup. That's a clean ZB.

I'm happy for you, Adam, and the lucky person who was smart enough to buy this gem.

Adam, I'd be happy for you, except for the fact that you sold it to my old friend Andrew. Now I'll have to travel up to Maryland and pester Andrew to let me buy it back, even though I've never owned this one. Anyway, Andrew, I can still eat off of your/my old ZB...if you don't mind a few cat hairs, that is. I'm glad you were the one who bought it. Play it in wonderful health.
