Sunny Sweeney
We opened for Sunny Sweeney last night at Cowboys Arlington (Texas).
She was great as expected. Band was real good as well.
David on pedal steel...great job my friend!!!
Our house engineer had the steel UP FRONT in the mix!
It was nice to see and hear my friend David K. on steel! It was the first time I had heard him with Sunny.
She is not hard to look at either!
Keep Rockin' David.

Hey thanks Billy! It was a pleasure to get to work with you and the guys. We appreciate you taking such good care of us. I know you must be enjoying that gig, with that great bunch of players you have in the house band.
I'm having a great time working for Sunny. She is humble, and down to earth, and very passionate about the music. It's a very steel-friendly gig, I get to play a lot!

steel friendly gig
YES you do get to play alot! That's what makes it even better. Sunny loves Pedal Steel Guitar.
I love that she pays tribute to Waylon, Merle and other classic artists.
In answer to your thought on the house band...YES, I am loving the house gig at Cowboys. One of the BEST bands around and any one of these guys could be playing for a LOT MORE money with National artists in Country, Rock or Jazz gigs....they are all just monster players.
Look forward to seeing you again sometime in the future David.
Yes, Theresa, that is a GREAT TUNE!

I just saw Sunny and David last Friday in San Jose. What a great act. Although I was next to the stage to the right of David (could hear him real good), I was behind the PA, so the sound was not as loud as the pain inflicter sound man at the Rodeo Club has it. I could hear everything great through the monitor in front of David.
Not to take away from the good stuff that comes from Nashville (very little these days, but still some of it is OK - I actually like a good portion of the New Country $h!t coming from Nashville - If it sounds good to me, I like it), but the only hope we have to keep real country music alive is through Texas and it's great entertainers such as Sunny, Amber Digby (why the Hell isn't she a national act?), Justin Trevino (again, why the hell isn't he a national act?), Miss Leslie, etc... Of course there is also the Time Jumpers out of Nashville (the best thing going in Tennessee).
Another thing about David, is he is a very good slide guitar player. He did maybe 4 songs on a Peavey Power Slide. Very good playing David.

Just got home from Helotes, TX. I had a wonderful opportunity to open for Sunny Sweeney at Josabis tonight. Its true, she is bonafide countrified, and her band are all top notch players! Meeting her and the band was a true pleasure. I wish them all the very best on their tour!
A blurry shot of me and Sunny Sweeney
A less blurry shot of me and David Kurrasch, who made his Peavey Power Slide and PSG sing along with Sunny in a most formidable way!
