I'm really looking forward to playing with Doug, especially since he will be doing the heavy lifting.
I'm also going to be playing on Stu Shulman's set, doing the guitar parts, so it's not exactly 'twin steels'.
(I'll be playing the guitar parts on steel, I don't play guitar).

Larry McGill was the singer. I got off the road out of Nashville to learn to play the C6th, and I was lucky enough to work with a singer from Texas who loved swing. Also, I replaced Bobby Black, who played at least half the set on C6th. I sucked for a while, but eventually got the hang of it (at least enough for Bobby to recommend me for the Asleep at the Wheel gig).

I just wanted to add to this thread a little. I know for a fact that Ray Price carried twin steels for quite a while, Buddy Emmons and Jimmy Day were together with him on road shows and that was the talk of the town back in the 60's, I never got to see Buddy, Jimmy and Ray perform live and that was the biggest disappointment of my life.
