A bender Jr for around 1K is a lot of steel for the money. Also very cool that you have a ready to go upgrade package for existing Jr owners.Bill Asher wrote:The six string Asher Junior upgrade Hipshot double bender and new bridge is available now for $360 which brings the total price to $1035. You can just order the hardware if you already have the lap steel...

Asher T-deluxe
J The guitar Red was/is using is the Asher T-deluxe...I've got one and can tell you first hand that it is one sweet guitar. It has a filter selector on it which allows you to dial in many more tones that a typical tele and the neck and fretboard feel worlds above the average tele.

Re: On the price and perceived values.
You may indeed - amen. Craftsmanship is craftsmanship, whatever the product may be, and you are absolutely justified in charging a commensurate price.Bill Asher wrote:Can I get an Amen?
Anyone take a look at violin prices recently?

My apologies to the person who started this thread for our little detour.
This is the guitar I've seen Redd use in the last year. Maybe he just happened to use it the times I saw him play.
What I thought was a dog bone looks more like an H (or a barbell) in the photo.
The other gentleman in the picture is a New York illustrator/animator.

That's a Hahn Tele - http://www.hahnguitars.com/ - another great builder who probably doesn't earn half of what he deserves..

I fitted the Duesenberg Mulibender to an SX lap steel. It took about 5 minutes ...longer than it took to change the strings.
It gives it a lot more flexibility and I can play a lot of pedal steel licks.
I wish they would make an 8-string version.
