| There are countless threads on pedals so here's my set up. GFI Ultra SP10 with GFI-II humbucker pickup, Hilton volume pedal and Fender 57 Reissue Twin, 40 watt with two 12" Eminence speakers. No reverb. I am looking for a good off the shelf pedal I can afford $100 + or -. |

| Robert, my suggestion is get a RV-3 or Holy Grail. You can find them for sale on here for around $100-$125.00. There's plenty of other FX that would work, but these are my choices. |

Robert,
I have had several reverb pedals and the one I am using now is,in My opinion the best, it is named wet reverb it is simple to operate (2 knobs) and will not break the bank.

Digitech RV-7 has nice verbs and does not affect your tone. I found that the RV-3 thinned my signal noticeably.

Robert,
I love that amp, it doesn't need much, tone for days!
That said, if you want reverb, the Digitech RV-7 is definitely the best I've heard. Better than my old Lexicon MPX-G2 rack unit for nearly 10 times the price. |

| Thanks for the replies. Just so this is not just another pedal blitz I'd really like to hear from those who use the GFI pickup/Fender tube amp combination. Single coil pickups have a very different sound when combined with a warm tube amp but maybe that's not the issue when discussing reverb? My practice amp is a Peavy transtube with digital reverb, eh, so-so. |

Hi Robert,
I don't usually use a single coil, but I regularly use smaller tube amps, and the Digitech (which has the same parent company as Lexicon) is the perfect reverb for that kind of thing (where you want a warm, subtle reverb) . Unlike a transistor amp, you don't need the sound bathing in reverb, and the Digitech doesn't change the tone of the steel at all. |

| A little confused here. I went to the Digitech site and they have the Digiverb pedal, the RV-7 is sold under the Hardwire brand. Is this the same pedal or has the Digitech RV-7 been replaced? |

For straight 'verb, a Boss RV-5 is hard to beat, IMO. I haven't tried the RV-7, though. If I'm not mistaken, they're a bit pricey. I picked up a real clean used RV-5 for $80, and haven't looked any further.

The hardwire brand is what I was talking about. It's seriously a great pedal (and I'm really picky about reverbs).
IMHO it is significantly better than the Boss RV-5, in terms of verb sounds and general tone suck. |

My reverb pedal is a Boss RV-3 I got used from a forumite.
It sounds great to me.
I like the delay as well, so I dont need another pedal.
Theres no delay feature on the RV-5.

I didn't care fot the RV-7 at all, love the RV-5. Getting ready to buy another pedal and trying to decide between the Wet Reverb and the new TC Electronic Hall Of Fame reverb with Toneprint and USB port ($150 street price).

I too am disappointed with the RV-7. I have one hooked up after the Hardwire DL-8 and I have not found a reverb setting that I like. I figured it was just me being me.

Love my Hardwire RV7... but then again I haven't tried any of the others.
It sounds very natural and does not change the tone of the guitar. |

I have the RV-5 in my old pedal boar that I have used for years. Whem I tried it with our new tube amps I found out quickly that it and the other Boss pedals I had add a lot of backgroun noise. I purchased the Hardwire RV-7 and DL-8 and no more noise issues. Great revcerb and delay. We carry both in a small case for the shows now. I need to get another set soon for the Dallas Show. We will have both the steel amp and the new 4x10 tweed amp in the Rains Room, played by David HArley and John Stannard.
You can check out the pedals there as well to get an idea.
I do not sell the pedals, just enjoy the quality and sound I am hearing. |

I've had my RV-7 for over a year now. Better than all others I've tried, but I haven't tried any of the
newest entries. The WET pedal & TC Electronic pedal look interesting, but like Ken said...some sound good but may
add hissing noise unless used in an effects loop. |

| I use a Rocktron Cyborg Digital Destiny reverb. They aren't made anymore, but you can still pick them up online for about $100.00 (originally listed for $299.00). quite a bit larger than the Boss or Digitech pedals, and a little more involved, but still easy to use and very good quality reverbs. |
