This is a rough mix of a song from an upcoming album I'm working on with my brother. It's called "Dead Musicians" and I wrote it about some of the musicians in this video who died sketchy and untimely deaths. I misspelled "Presley" and I intend to fix that. Anyway, thought I'd share:

I end with Jeff Buckley only to match the lyric. I don't think that he was the most important of them all or anything. Richard Manuel is the one who initially inspired the writing of the song. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

Newfie bands always need protection up there. Old grudges abound....ha! Kidding. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

Hey Tony, thanks! Glad you liked it. I did the first solo and our other guitar player Chad Murphy did the second one. We plan a way clearer mix, though, for final. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

I liked it a lot. When I first listened to it, I thought it was a previously recorded song that I was just unfamiliar with. I was gonna google it when I noticed it was an original.
That 1st solo is the one that captured my ear......it sounds like as if you used some compression to make it just ooze! Good job. |

Tony, you have a good ear. I used the compressor on my Route 66 pedal, but only a small amount. The guitar is a Les Paul Classic and I'm running it through a '68 Super Reverb. The amp was dimed so you're hearing some compression there as well. I used my fingers to pick the solo, and it's mostly double notes. Glad you like it!
Brothers in Stereo has a FB page with links to Itunes for our first album and solo albums as well. We should have some more info up there as the new album unfolds:

Good song. Nice work, Chris! You make that PSG sound almost like a Les Paul
The video is a sad reminder... so much lost talent. Thanks for posting this. |

Yes, totally sad. And a lot of them so young. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

I just don't quite agree on Elvis' death. According to his autopsy, he died from cardiac arythmia. In other words, his heart gave out from too many prescription drugs and an unhealthy diet. |

I can't agree with you, Glen. Prescription drugs are still drugs, and Elvis was an addict of the worst kind. He was no better off than a heroin addict. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars
