Wanda worked an Opry spot last Saturday night with a band led by Jack White, is playing a show tonight at Third Man Records in Nashville and is making a round of the late night talk shows:

Saw her tonight on Letterman. She rocked. And it's always nice to see PSG get camera time. Rich played tasty stuff, I do wish there had been a little less Jack White, but that's just my opinion.
Oh Well

half of jack's sound would have been better. wanda's cool...but she's no rose maddox!

the show was too overproduced, player-wise, for the quality being offered.

Same band on Letterman - cool after the solo when the horns play the guitar riff:

I liked it for what it is - rock and roll with a rock and roll attitude. It is in no way any manner of country music, no point in applying any type of standards from that world.

Looks like a fun gig for the steel player. Smile

My first time on the road, some 50 years ago,in I beleive the Turf Club in Austin Minnesota. I was geen and scared as could be. On break the bartender told me I should have been there the week before, and heard Wanda Jackson's lead player. I asked his name He said some guy by the name of Roy Clark. Another guitar player that worked with her was Dave Lyle. She has always had top-notch musicions around her. Hell at her age, I say let her rock. DW

I only bought 3 tracks on Amazon and put Dust On the Bible on my play list. Truly disappointed with Teach Me Tonight.
