What's the right sized bar for a youngster?
I'm teaching my 11 year old daughter to play pedal steel. I am wondering if I should start her out with a small bar & gradually work our way up to a "normal" sized bar as her hands grow? OR just start her her w/ a "normal" sized bar? She's been playing lapsteel for about a year & has good bar handling skills & her intonation is great. But,she's using a small round-nosed bar. Opinions? I want to make sure we don't do any damage to her hands.

the right size bar
Hey David; how far are you from Ashdown, Ar. I'm needing a teacher for my 8 yr. old great grandson. I know thats a little young but he's really interested, so I got him a Carpsteel & cut the legs down to fit him. Any help finding a teacher will be appreciated. Andy H. (wish I'd had that kinda help when I was 8.)
