Shackdusters in warmth with proper miocrophones !

Post by Kevin Brown »

Hi chaps, Gary and I virtually holed up in the snow over xmas so cracked on with the project, this was done two days ago, it marks almost the completion of the album, taking a break now as Im of to Goa soon to enjoy some shacklife away from mine for a while. The material has been pavement tested and so far so good, we used the busking to tighten up the tunes and tweak the arrangemants, plus we earnt money, not everyones way of working but we had a great time ! hope you enjoy, i was going to leave it as a live duo recording.
Heres the link, hope you enjoy, C sharp minor again tuned down to D

Thanks Kevin! Really enjoyed this and the other Shackduster numbers posted earlier, look forward to buying or downloading the album - do let us know when and how.

Will there be a UK tour?

The warmth of Goa sounds attractive after the early winter in the UK - enjoy!

I saw you and Gary freezing out on the streets of Bath "pavement testing" and it sounded really good - good luck with the album, and I know it sounds even better without the crash of icicles falling all around! I really like all the tracks I've heard to date, especially "Adios Maria Linda"...give it a listen guys on the soundcloud link if you haven't heard it already. Nice work Kev - H

Wow, this is really fine playing Kevin. You have such a great feel for the instrument.

I'm with Henry on "Adios Maria Linda", what a beautiful song and superbly played. I'm not familiar with the song, but it reminds of "He Aloha No Honolulu" (maybe the latter is Hawaiian adaptation?). Understated elegance, that one. Bravo!

Thanks Bill, just about saved it from going to page two !! Just a note for listeners when you click on the link it will take you to 'She prefers my friend' which is the correct title for this tune, No Place Like Home is now further down my soundcloud page, highly recommend soundcloud by the way, a very easy hands on file hosting company with no ads !

A shackduster is someone like me who lives in one, and from time to time gives it a good dust and clean, my friend Gary Rudd also stays here from time to time and helps out, hence we are both shackdusters
