Topic: Great Time At the TSGA Jamboree |

Went to the TSGA Jamboree yesterday, my 2nd year in going. I want to say "man" what a bunch of great players, and people. The vendors were out in full force and ready willing and able to help anyone, from pro to novice. Alot of great instructional information also. I have to say that I have not seen the cammaraderie that I saw at this get-together since I left the Marine Corps some 20 years ago. People helping people and everyone having a great time.
There were some of the greatest players on stage that just blew me away, I got to see in person those guys and gals that I'd only heard or seen on CD, or TV, and getting to see them live just sealed my love for the Steel Guitar.
Even though I've been at this for a very short time, the pros, and I'm not talking about just the players, but the ladies and gentleman that make up our great steel guitar community a great place. Welcomed me with open arms and were very helpful with any questions that I had. I just wished I more $$$ to get some of the things i've had on my wish list, but not able too this year.
For those of you not able to go this year, I highly suggest if your ate up with steel guitar like I am, this is the place to be, so save your penny's for next year, because it is well worth it. Thanks to the TSGA for putting on one heck of a show this year, and for sure I will be back next year God willing and the creeks don't rise.

| Mark, You are so right. I only get to go for the Saturday night show and it was great. I met some forum friends I have never met before which to me is an added treat. I took a new player with me and this was his first steel show to attend. He walked away using words like "Paul Franklin is a monster". The playing was top notch by Paul as well as John Hughey,Mike Sigler,Randy Beavers and all the others that performed. Tommy Dodd played in the place of Sarah Jory and man does he have energy. His song selection was unique and he played some I have never heard on steel guitar before. There was Johnny Bush singing a set and Rob Parker sang as well. Just a great night and it left me wanting more and ready for the 2007 show. |

| While there were several excellent singers lending their talent to the TSGA Jamboree, "great time" to me meant that my good friend and Texas music icon, Curtis Potter was well and able to perform on Herby Wallace's set! After some comment about recent surgery limiting his singing range, Curtis proceeded to amaze us all with top notch renditions of several all time favorites and believe me, the range was not problem for the "best of the best!" Way to go, Curtis!! |

Hey I went to the TSGA Jamboree for the 10th or 12th time. Everyone gets better. Hats off to the the TSGA crew for a magnificent job. A special thanks to the sound DUDE, Danny Beaver for the sound and the projector idea. What will they do to top this year?
I am ready to go for 2007.

I agree James, I have been very critical of sound at most of these conventions, but I thought this year was great. I had a little trouble hearing the lead guitar player a few times, but other than that, the sound was great, and I didn't hear feedback one time while I was in the main hall. Great job, Danny. The screen was a great idea too. I spent most of my time watching the screen, as I usually couldn't see the player directly.
It was good finally getting to meet you James, hope to see you at the next show.

| Earnest, I thought the most innovative performance was by Reece Anderson and Paul Franklin playing together and showing what could be played without pedals (even though I am a PSG player). Their set blew me away!!! |
