I wonder if a pro player like Tim has to join the line outside the Station Inn or are you just kind of allowed in the door at some point instead of having to wait in line with "the unwashed masses" for The Timejumpers?
I was in Nashville two months ago for Resosummit IV, and stuck around two days after it was over on Sunday evening and stayed at a friend's house outside of Franklin. This couple moved there from Northern Calif. five years ago.
I had already been at The Station Inn for three consecutive nights because there were shows set up for us each evening featuring great dobro players (Justin Moses, Mike Auldridge, and Rob Ickes - who puts on Resosummit).
I wanted to go down on Monday night to catch The Timejumpers, but my buddy wasn't up for it. He said he's seen them about five times since moving to Nashville, and ever since Vince joined on a fairly regular basis, you'd have to get down there and stand in line for close to three hours to get good seats for the 9 p.m. show.
I was a little disappointed not to see them, but it worked out okay for me because after enjoying a great roast beef dinner cooked by the lady of the house, we watched what turned out to be the final game of the World Series, when Tim Lincecum shot down the Rangers to give my Giants their first World Series victory in 56 years. I've been a Giants fan since I was a kid in the 1960's, and have had season tickets at various times over the years. If the game hadn't been on I would have gone downtown and joined the line to wait for the show.
Actually, just two days prior to flying to Nashville I saw Vince here in Santa Rosa, he was at the end of his recent tour. And he had Dawn singing with him. No Paul Franklin on steel though, just some "slacker" by the name of Tommy White...
