Hey,

Used to have a matchbox and ditched it when I started playing through a silverface twin. Noticed that my pickup’s output isn’t consistent across the strings and my highs suffered a bit (quieter than my lows – I play a Fessenden with a Bill Lawerence 710; L120 VP) so need to get another one. Wondering what the difference is between the matchbox and blackbox? Would it be redundant to run a blackbox with a tube amp? Are both of these devices the same in theory?

Thanks folks.

When I tried my Black Box with a twin it sounded great.

There was the silky, sheen on the high end that I couldn't dial in without it.

This is the one with the variable impedance control.

Very good stuff!
