I second that. All of these albums are great and I have listened to them already over and over again, without getting tired. They are masterpieces.

Cool article. I like this quote:
Quote: |
The modern pedal steel guitar is a mad scientist’s idea of a musical instrument, or at least a mad mechanical engineer’s. |

I thought I'd bump this up just once since it was posted right before Christmas and could have been easily missed by some people who might enjoy it...
A really good piece on Lloyd, and some great steel oriented CDs... |

Great article on Lloyd Green, should be required reading!
So does anyone know how Lloyd is doing since his knee surgery in September/2010...Just wondering if he is OK and how the recovery/physical therapy is going? He is 73 years old and playing better than ever! |

The most important thing is that Lloyd's creative thought process is as highly developed now as it ever has been. It's great that he can be selective in the projects that he wants to work on these days, where the steel guitar is actually a feature rather than a low mixed colouring effect to make a recording sound country(ish). He is not interested in the latter at all. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Nice article, great recording...but I'd sure like to see Lloyd release his own "The Lloyd Green" album. |

Yes, yes, nice article about some nice albums--- and as said in the article, the arrangements allow the steel sit substantially in the mix. There's an essential quality to the fills, solos, and "conversational" stuff going on between the vocal and steel and Lloyd's tone just keeps getting finer to my ears with each new release. |
