Hey, if b0b can jump ship to Marimba, I can go my own course......
OK, the real announcement since we're getting close.....
The workshop officially begins at 10am. I will be there and doors will open at 9am. So if you want to show up early, set up, check out the steels & resophonics, shoot the breeze, down a little bourbon, come on by. ![](http://steelguitarforum.com/biggrin.gif) |

I'm coming to the city Friday afternoon with my girlfriend. We'll be going out to hear some jazz Friday and Saturday night, and probably go to the MOMA Saturday afternoon. If anyone has any suggested venues or performances, or wants to come along or meet somewhere, please let me know.

David, if you and your lady feel so inclined, stop by the shop on Friday.
Reece, I am so looking forward to this weekend......and the bourbon is for all of the others....it eases the pain when I play ![](http://steelguitarforum.com/smile.gif) |

Bill....it will be an honor for me to play for the official international kickoff for the S0S this weekend.
I just hope I pass my playing exam so I can get my required "performance certificate"! |

I've taken a hammer to the Melobar 10 string so I'm half way there.
Say again what's the best wisdom re: street parking Sunday morning, on your street or in the vicinity? I'd much rather drive than take the train.
And come to think of it, you want to post that address again--it'll save me having to find where I've got it filed. |

Jon, it's
28 west 38th st....between 5th & 6th ave, closer to 5th.
The parking is unpredictable. The weather is supposed to be on the cold side, so there may be a fair amount of parking in the morning....I imagine you should be able to find a spot on the block, but again, ya' never know.[This message was edited by HowardR on 23 February 2006 at 03:32 PM.] |

Howard,
First, How's the unloading situation in front of your place? In other words, can we stop to unload without blocking up traffic? Second, do you know the location of the nearest open parking lot? Third, do you have plans to video the workshop for archival reasons? Thanks. |

Hi Peter,
Well, double parking can get you a ticket, but it's rare, if it's quick. There is a parking garage on 38th street on my block. If you want an open lot, they're on 10 & 11th ave & 38th st.
I won't be video taping as I have much to do and I also want to take the class. Oh, I also don't have a camcoder. |

I'm sure Howard will be posting a review of the day with photos, so I don't want to steal his thunder.
I'll just leave it at this: I got to spend 2 days with Reece. It was one of the great weekends of my life. Of course, the event itself was great and I learned enough stuff to keep me going for quite a while.
But just hanging around with Reece outside of the event was a slice of heaven. |

Yes, I have some great photos and a review of an afternoon well worth spending with Reece and everyone who attended.
Since it's no longer an event or announcement, I'll post it in Steel Players, 'cause everone there.....is. ![](http://steelguitarforum.com/smile.gif) [This message was edited by HowardR on 26 February 2006 at 08:59 PM.] |
