ZT Club amps at the Phoenix show

Post by Mike Perlowin »

I and others have written a lot about these amps. They put out 200 watts, have a single 12' speaker, and weigh just 22 pounds. Here is a link so you can read more about them:

http://www.ztamplifiers.com/products/club.html

I made a deal with the company, and will be bringing several of these amps to the show in Phoenix for the performers to use, and will have one on a display table for people to inspect. I will also have coupons entitling the bearers to either special discounts or rebates redeemable at participating steel guitar shops including (but not necessarily limited to) Jim Palenscar's, Frenchy's in New Mexico, Scotty's and Blackie Taylor's.

We are still working out the details, but the idea is to get these amps into all the steel guitar stores.

Those of you who are attending the show, please stop by the table and take a close look, and by all means, pick it up and see how light it is.

I already have one amps, and will be getting another in exchange for doing this. The 2 of them, plus my POD will be my rig from now on. I love my Music Man twin, but it weigh close to 80 pounds, and carrying it around has gotten very old.(Or maybe it's just me that's gotten old.)

I did a guitar gig last night with mine, while scrambling around on the floor of the club trying to find an A.C. outlet I lifted my ZT Club up with two fingers put it up on a milk crate to get it off the ground...That's a light amp.Sometime during the night we played "White Room" and I cranked it as loud as it will go with a Boss Blues Driver and if doesn't kick like a Marshall!I bought it as a steel guitar amp and it sounds so great on my 6 string I never got a chance to play my steel thru it. ;-)
Steeltronics Z-pickup,Desert Rose S-10 4+5,Desert Rose Keyless S-10 3+5... Mullen G2 S-10 3+5,Telonics 206 pickups,Telonics volume pedal.,Blanton SD -10,Emmons GS_10...Zirctone bar,Bill Groner Bar...any amp that isn't broken.Steel Seat.Com seats...Licking paint chips off of Chinese Toys since 1952.

Stu, my idol. Al Vescovo uses his on steel by itself, and it sounds pretty good, but I think it sounds a lot better for steel if you use it with a POD. The POD adds a kind of sparkle (for lack of a better word,) to the sound.

The Clubs list for $600. The show special price will probably be around $400, but I don't know for sure.
