Shobud Pro II (Guitar is sold!)

Post by Terry Sneed »

I have a 78 model Shobud Pro II Custom 8x5 Emmons setup. It's a mahogany colored with cream inlay. It has the dust catcher fret boards and shobud pickups. I got this guitar off the forum about 7 or 8 months ago. This Pro II Custom is in excellent shape in every way. I've played one Gospel singin with it. Since then it's been set up at my smoke free home. You have to look really hard to find a bar ding, or scratch on the body of this Pro II. This guitar must have been refurbished not so long ago. I have degenerative disc in my back. I thought I would be able to handle it, but the weight is just to much for me. I'll try some pictures.

I'm asking $2675 ( price is firm) Postal MO only, lower 48 only. As far as trades, the only guitars I might be interested in is, An SD-10 Pre RP Mullen, an SD-10 Emmons Legrande II, an SD-10 Emmons Legrand shorty, or an SD-10 Rains that has had the mod, and Maybe a D-10 Carter, or a D-10 GFI Ultra.

:D :D I am speechless, this in one of the top 5 most beautiful Sho Buds I have seen on this forum. The color is outrageously beautiful and it looks like it was just painted. As Elvis once sang "Lord Almighty I feel my Temperaturer Risin"

Thanks Bill, I agree with you. :) I've looked this guitar over again, and the body of this guitar looks brand new. And the undercarriage, I think the pictures tell the story. You just can't find a 70's Shobud Pro II in this kind of shape very often. It's worth more than my asking price IMO, but ain't got but one little nibble so far. To close to Christmas I reckon. :\ :)

Bill, I replaced it with a whole bunch of cash. I still have a LDG as nice as that and a Emmons D10 LL in mint condition.

still have it

Post by David Kellogg »

Yep Dana, still have the black. I'm keepin it though. Getting back to this Bud, I would say it is probably in the top 5 unmolested original Pro 2's in the country. I only know that one new knee lever has been added. It will only increase in value over time. to purchase another and put it in the condition of this one will cost you much more. Fella's, show your wives what you want for Christmas.

Thanks David for the nice words about this Pro II.
I added a LKV right after I got it. Most every steel I've ever owned, had a LKV that lowers the Bs a half.
Got your email Dennis, thanks.

Patric, it's still avaliable, I was planning on keeping the VP . It also has a nice case in very good condition. Forgot to add that.
Still considering a trade for a nice SD-10 Pre RP Mullen, SD-10 Emmons Legrand II or an SD-10 Emmons Legrand Shorty, SD-10 Rains that has had the mod, and maybe a D-10 Carter, or a D-10 or SD-10 GFI Ultra.

Wow the only thing standing between me and this beauty is another Atlantic blizzard. Terry, I made it to the USPS today but, the USPS staff didn't. Just waiting for them to show up to work sometime this week and your MO will be on the way.
