I have not uploaded a video for a long time because lately I was so busy making straps and capos.

But this old Procol Harum song I had to give a try how it turns out on a reso.

cheers

New perspective.

That song usually tears’ me up something awful.
I can’t explain why, I’m sure it is something from the past.
However after listening to your version and appreciating your playing I may have a new perspective of it.
Thank you very much

I'm going to try to post that on Resonation. Thanks Martin, absolutely beautiful. I also get teary eyed with that one - it was one my best friend and I used to play together a lot back in the seventies - he passed away three years ago and every time I hear this I think of him.

thanks again, just beautiful!

Really - really nice rendition. Wish I could mellow enough to get that smooth a tone.

Nice tune. Very nicely done. It goes well on the dobro. Wish I could sound anywhere near that.

Beautiful mellow mood created by your touch and choice of slides. Well done! I'm not nuts about the little guitar "rake" in the first section though. Seemed a bit out of place.

Martin,

An excellent interpretation of an iconic tune. Thgat took some cojones 8)

Mike, I'm not at all bothered by the rake. In my opinion, it's one of those "sounds" that identifies the reso to my ear.. I think if you're going to adapt a tune that is so typically "organ" to the dobro, you have to pretty much let the "fingerprints" of that instrument be obvious.

Martin,

You may be right, but I hear so many guitarists at Berklee trying to play Misty or something and they throw in a 5 string rake to the first note and I just want to smack them! :)

Mike you, know there's plenty more reasons to smack guitar students at Berklee ;-)
