Many of you know I started out Greg's Guitars collecting The Grammer Guitar and have placed them back on the map rescuing them from obscurity. Billy and family have become good friends in the process and thought y'all might like to know.
Billy taped 2 shows on Larry's Country Diner on RFD TV. The 1st part of the show will be shown Friday, Dec 10 at 7 or 8pm(check your time) this show repeats again on Sat.night.
The 2nd part of the show is on the next Friday, Dec. 17th.

| Billy I have a Billy Grammer story that needs to be heard. One day after walking across Broadway in the 70's, Billy came out of Roy Wiggin's shop with a Gibson 335 case. We visited on the sidewalk for a while. He opened the case to a red 335 with no f holes. He said he showed that to Gibson and they refused to pursue the concept. Thought that was a great idea for louder volumes and Gibson didn't want anything to do with it. Later only with a 355 came Billy's concept called "Lucille". Who'd a thunk it....... Billy would. |

I still have my old "RG&G" Model Grammer that Little Roy Wiggins gave me when I left the store. I worked at the store during the Ralph Fielding fiasco and the foreclosure and Little Roy becoming President of Grammer.
The RG&G models are the most desireable and were made before all the transisions between Ampgeg, the Ralph Fielding era and later foreclosure ownership and Little Roy trying to rescue and revive the brand, until the factory fire.
What was left of the factory production equipment was purchased by Tut Taylor who started the Crafters of Tenn company producing Dobro's.
Billy brought a Telecaster to the store to sell. He wanted above street price for the particular model Telecaster and told us "Tell them it was one of my personal guitars". It never sold while I worked at the store.

| My friend Don Drews bought the remaining bodys and necks back in the 70s and put some of them together and sold them I dont know if they had any left when he passed away or not. |

I remember Tommy Hunter playing Grammer guitars on his TV show back in the 1970s.
