I do know your frustration on this kind of problem -- this may seem a really stupid thing to say but --- make sure you have cables in the right connector -- I found during my wi-fi problems I did this very thing more than once .

First thing is to get everything sync'd back up. Everything needs to be powered off and back on in a certain sequence.
1. Power off the Router and power off ALL the PC's. Resync the modem (some have a recessed reset button on the rear and some require powering the modem off and back on). Wait until the modem is fully sync'd up and all the lights are lit.
2. Power on the Router and it should connect with the Modem (usually a light will come on for the connection both at the Router and the Modem).
3. After the Router is sync'd up, start up the PC's, one at a time and they should connect. You can then shut down PC's and power them back on and they will boot up and connect. |

If it's not connecting, I would say it's "toast". I had one of that model router and one day it just went belly up. Bought a new model Linksys/Cisco wireless router with "n" (faster speed) capability and it fixed the problem. |

I've got a newer model (WRT160N) and different software (Linksys Easylink Advisor). My software has an option to "Repair Link". If you have that option give that a try and see if it will fix it. |

Hit the Refresh button a few times and see if you can coax the modem into assigning an IP address to the router.
If still no happy happy, go to the router's Setup tab > MAC Address Clone and clone the MAC of your computer's NIC. Apply, restart the router and try again. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

As I figured the old one "went south". I've went through several routers and I even have them connected to a UPS so it's not AC power that is causing them to die. Everything is working and then one day you can't connect through the router and all indicators on the router are normal. |
