Well, Tony and John, some of it is absurd to be sure. I accept you and others asked for and received good service from Emmons. I also accept that others asked for the same and didn't get it. As far as the technical part, I don't think that is an issue as I truly believe the Emmons company is quiet aware of things being said on this forum and other places. I also believe they choose not to answer. Erv said "Whenever you keep stirring a pot of poop, all you get out of it is stink!" and I believe that it's probably their take on it. I have seen other steel manufacturers on this forum answering questions about their products and I don't feel Emmons is doing the right thing with silence.
I think for some,Emmons is that magical name with sentimental value for being associated with Buddy. But Buddy has long been gone from there and last I knew, doesn't even play an Emmons any more. So I don't have that kind of feeling towards the company, they make a great steel, but others do too. Would I buy one, yes, as I said, they make a great steel. But I'm not going to get irate over someone saying the company screwed them. State the facts and let the chips fall where they may. If it's factual, there is nothing to be said by any defender, or stick your head in the sand and say it ain't so.
So all I'm saying is, stick to the facts, and let the people who had the experience, good or bad, tell their side of it, without "bashers" from either side getting unnecessary emotions involved.
Yeah, I know that's gonna happen too, but that's the way it should be. My opinions,FWIW.

I agree with both of you guys. It is a bizarre story and the Emmons company has nothing to say about it.I don't feel Emmons is doing the right thing with silence.

Maybe we could do a poll of people that have gotten guitars built by EGC in the last 5 years, and ask what their experiences have been.
How fast they get "fast cash parts" mailed out and collected for is misleading indicator of what kind of "manufacturer" they are. If anything, it shows that they are very interested in making as much money, quickly as they can, which can lead to differing conclusions by reasonable people. Maybe except to Erv and his cousins down at the Cargill Elevator.
Every Emmons part I ever ordered came on time.
I still think besides a Bootlickers section, they should have a Manufacturer section.
For a number of reasons, as a Colonel told me one time, I doubt if you're going to find anybody as disinterested in the outcome of this case as I am.
Just a couple of observations.
I couldn't help but notice the trail of blood and guts running out into the hallway.
Tony, are you doing operations again?

It appears that i was misunderstood when i said i would like to see them come into money !!! I was not saying they will get rich building steel guitars ! I meant something like someone would give them maybe lottery money or something like that . I wasn't saying that anyone will but just speaking in general . Sorry i mislead anyone . Danny i think everyone saw my post about the problems i had but i'm past that now . Just let me drop this post by saying my Legrande lll is doing a great job for me and has that ''Emmons Sound '' players talk about . I believe if they had ''PLENTY '' of money to work with you wouldn't see this kind of post anymore ! On to another thread !
Well, In summation, I guess I could say that never cared for the "Emmons Sound" nearly as much as the clear clean sound of my 600$ ProIII Sho~Bud that I beat to death after 30 years of hard playing.
If I would have woken up one morning, and found that it sounded like an Emmons, I'd have spent 5000$ and waited for three years to have it remanufactured. Even if I had to have the Forum supply the Pedal rack.
People like what they like.
Some people like that Big Pole Peanut Butter sound, as much as I don't.
I can live with that.
YMMV.

Hi folks. how are you doing. I see something still going on in here.
well, nice to see and hear this happy post of everybody happy with Emmons, that, indeed, it's a true thing.
I will be happy too if I ever own one, actually I really want one, so thanks Emmons for beeing here in the market.
Like always thing are going crazy in here, people write good, write bad, bashing things, non-bashing things....well, I think that Mr. Dickie Whitley and Jhonny T. said it right, in the best way, and in what they say there is the essential things of this matter.
Ivano is pretty happy of his Emmons, and I want to remember you that he already got 3 Emmons from them.
With the last one, for the reasons that you already know, he had some problems, problems that just could have been solved with a little helpful and maybe nice communications, but it wasn't so. So now Ivano is a happy Emmons player just thanks to Mr. kevin Hatton, and not because of Rebecca and Ron Laisley.
But, I mean, that's all. You can discuss, believe or not, but this is the story. And no, no apologize at all, just bad, not-nice, words.
But, this is our story, isolated, unique maybe, or "bizarre" as someone said. And its finished from what us is concerned.
Then me, and Ivano too, are happy and thankful person towards Emmons guitars. So are most of you.
Let's keep it like so. Some had nice experience, and some (few case) don't, so, ok , it's life.
You know, at the end of october I went to Nashville for the Resosummit (they hold it every year, that was the 4th edition), and Ivano needed an Emmons plate for his pedal steel, so he IS an happy player of Emmons, but his problem wasn't the Emmons guitar itself. you know.
Anyway to help him again, while I was there, I rented a car and drove till I reached Bobbe Seymour pedal steel shop, had the honor to known him, and I bought Ivano his Emmons plate, and an Emmons t-shirt, that I gave him few days ago as a gift ( I could not wait Christmas... ) , so now is more than happy.
So folks, as far "the Italians", we are ok and happy.
The only thing about me that I can say is that I would like to have an Emmons guitar for me. Where will I buy it ? don't know. On the other hand, I know where I won't buy it.
I'm mainly in a the dobro, resonator, business, so, just in case you care, here's a video I made after beeing at Resosummit.
Thanks guys. And be happy.

Thanks Crowbear, I didn't saw that forum post.
well, I don't know what does it means that "big scam" words, or to whom it was addresed, and maybe it's better not to think about this.
If it was towards the "Italians", well, I deal with a lot of Bluegrass business people, and I have friends such Rob Ickes, Andy Hall, Sally Van Meter, Mike Auldridge, Jerry Douglas, Mike Witcher and so on, if these are names that tell you something, so, I think I have a good nice reputation as far this music-business is about, so I don't have really time to waste with "scamming around", just for fun. And Ivano's matter was not fun for us.
But we are happy now, that's for sure.
Happy Christmas to you all, and to you too, Mr. Erv.
thanks.

lyrics to Smiling Faces Sometimes / The Temptations
Smiling faces sometimes pretend to be your friend
Smiling faces show no traces of the evil that lurks within
Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth uh
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof
The truth is in the eyes
Cause the eyes don't lie, amen
Remember a smile is just
A frown turned upside down
My friend let me tell you
Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth, uh
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof
Beware, beware of the handshake
That hides the snake
I'm telling you beware
Beware of the pat on the back
It just might hold you back
Jealousy (jealousy)
Misery (misery)
Envy
I tell you, you can't see behind smiling faces
Smiling faces sometimes they don't tell the truth
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof
Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof
(Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes)
(Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes)
I'm telling you beware, beware of the handshake
That hides the snake
Listen to me now, beware
Beware of that pat on the back
It just might hold you back
Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof
Your enemy won't do you no harm
Cause you'll know where he's coming from
Don't let the handshake and the smile fool ya
Take my advice I'm only try' to school ya
Smiling faces sometimes pretend to be your friend
Smiling faces show no traces of the evil that lurks within
Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth uh
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof

Greetings to you all.
Only today I saw this thread ....
My friend Paolo expresses my thoughts.
I thought that the issue involved is that I saw was exhausted, but periodically returns.
Personally I do not want to repeat anything new, except to remind those who think that I have vanished, leaving things open, so that is not:

Yeah, and they quickly riding their "has been" reputation in the ground.I think for some,Emmons is that magical name with sentimental value for being associated with Buddy.
Personally, I would not risk putting a deposit on a new guitar from them, but that is just my opinion.
Those of you that have had good luck with them, I wish you well.
IMHO.
