Hey Ya'll,
It's getting close to the time when I must select a 2nd quarter "favorite", and I just want to encourage all of you who are considering entering to go ahead and get those tapes and/or cds in the running! The Convention in St. Louis is already lining up some special surprises, and we're really looking forward to shining a spotlight on our genuine Operation Russless Winner.

And, hey, since Alma McCoy and all those other slick "Pranksters" are out of the "mix", the competition just got a whole lot easier!!!!! And, Russ is actually breathing again! Of course, he's got a keener eye on Randal Gene Beavers now!!! And, I'm having to keep an especially close watch on Russ, 'cause it's been my experience with him that he prefers greatly to have the last "word" and will stop at nothing to get "even"...I'm just trying to keep Randy alive. But then, you oughta know..."you play with fire..." there's only so much I can do here...

Laney, Austin is going Friday to record the song that he has chosen. I think if they get it in the mail tomorrow evening it should make it for the February picking. Did you get my email that I sent you with the question I had? If not let me know and I will email the question again. Donna

Donna,
I don't think I got your email.
Glad to hear about Austin. Tell him to be sure not to put his name on the actual cd so I can remain "objective". You know I have a soft spot for steelers who aren't already "set in their ways"!!

Looking forward to seeing you and yours again! I could use some of your chocolate right now!

Happy fishin'!

Ms Hicks. You might want to keep yout eye out for a "Dolly Ergen" this time. A fetching older lass I met in Nashville. Played really good. A "Dallas Cowboys" sweatshirt will be your tip off..

Eric, you're scaring me. ??????
Mike, I missed you guys, too. I know the Mesa show is a lot of fun, and Russ really had a good time. Our daughter, Lindsay, was about to leave to go back to school and my apron strings were all tied up again. That's my baby...

I want to take a minute to acknowledge someone here; this whole Operation Russless thing wouldn't have happened had it not been for the brainstorming of CHUCK CAMPBELL. It was his idea to begin with to record steeless tracks to the "Matters of the Heart" cd, and then to have the contest. I think it's proven to have been a pretty good idea, Chuck! You're a good "thinker", a good player and singer, and you and Shirley are two very special Friends!
