ethereal weiss tunings

Post by AJ Azure »

just tripped into these two tunings on my weiss

CEGEF#D (Cmaj #11 add9)
BEGEF#D (Em9b6)

I need a 7 string!

CEGEF#BD (Cmaj7#11)
BEGEF#CD (Em9, b13)

loud lap piano kicks butt!

What is ethereal about them?

Wouldn't that Em9b6 need a C natural (the b6 in E)? Otherwise, that's a simple (hah!) Em9 tuning.

Looks like the Cmaj7#11 is actually a Cmaj9#11.

What are the virtues you see in these tunings?

woops yup forgot the 9 and I was thinking towards the 7 string when I wrote the Em my bad.

they sound amazing because. they're low tuned. that C is below the E on guitar. try it.

the virtues are the tonality and the way the intervals are set up.
