Is there a practical reason the Emmons Co. went back to the LKH after the SKH introduction with the Le Grand ?
Many thanks, R.C. |

Mainly due to the urging of Hal Rugg and other players that believed that the overtones created by the LKH had something to do with the tone. |

I remember Jack giving a quite detailed history of the LeGrande steels a year or so ago. There were changes to the keyhead and changer over the first five years or so. |

In the push pulls string 5 and 6 had a duplex scale harmonic several octaves above the primary note. Pick the string between the nut roller and the tunning key and you will hear it. Most high end pianos use this method on the treble bridge to enhance the projection. I asked Ron Lashley Sr. if this was by design or accident. He only smiled.

Doug, I had many such instances with Ron over the years. Usually no answer was the answer! |

Aesthetically, the short keyhead suits the guitar better.
It is compact, like the keyhead on the MSA Millenium. |
