Without starting another thread to be closed, I was wondering if he is still going ahead with the project of Steel vs Steel?

No Cartoons.
No quibbling girls!
Just a simple question?
It was an interesting thread before it got out of hand! ( I thought )

Or is this going to be closed before it opens?

Only b0b knows?

Very Happy

It's too early to tell.

As much as I decried the validity of his methodology I'm still obliged to grant him the time to get his ducks in a row and "put his money where his mouth is".

We shall see.

Or not.

There could be one every year.

Somewhere in the middle of the country. Like in St Louis.

Wait a minue.

There already is..

I am warm to the idea, not to establish which steel sounds best, but I'd like to hear the differences, if any. I don't think of it as a contest, just a demonstration of various steels. Maybe it is my ears, but I love the sound of every steel I have heard on You Tube or right here on the Forum. They were all different players and different steels and not once did I think, gee, that guitar sounds better than another. Just sounded a little different.
I am up for listening to a presentation, but I will not decry one steel against the other, heck, I love all of them.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree Wally, context is everything. There are times when nothing but a Fender 1000 would satisfy my sensibilities. I wouldn't want to have to play one all the time. Different brands are "best" for different applications.
