This has nothing to do with pedal steel but here goes :
I have seen Merle Travis with an early Bigsby guitar -6 string - and Tiny Moore with a 5 string mandolin ??
Did Paul Bigsby make many other 6 strings or other instruments ? Are there any 6 string guitars still around ?

There's about 25 known to exist, two of them are tenor guitars. Add to that at least 13 custom necks and unknown amount of other custom jobs ( pickguards, PU's etc ) and at least seven mandolins. Most of these are still around and probably and hopefully the rest will surface at some point.
