Who played steel for Leann Rimes

Post by Ham Morris »

Had the pleasure of attending a Leann Rimes concert last week. Anyone know who played steel on this latest tour? Thanx

Junior Knight played for her in the early years.
I met and had breakfast with him at a PSGA show years ago.
One of the finest players and gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure to know.
I have a picture I took of him and L.T. Zinn hanging in my music room and sent them both a copy
back then.

Gotta tell ya I've thoroughly enjoyed takin' Junior's pickin' apart on "Blue" and puttin' it back together.

Can't duplicate that sweet sound though...

We were supposed to get her for a concert here in Bradford several weeks ago but she cancelled out on us.

Maybe later....

Junior was playin' steel for LeAnn right before I started playin' steel because I remember in a brochure that Carter Steel Guitars had put out, they said he was playin' his Carter on tour with LeAnn. Rusty Danmyer used to play steel with Lee Ann Womack, and joined LeAnn Rimes' band a few years ago. Rusty plays a Zumsteel and lately I've seen a picture of him playin' a ShowPro steel.

Guess I was misinformed on the studio cut.

I'll tell ya that Junior's version of "Guess My Eyes were Bigger Than My Heart" is a joy to listen to.
Same for his version of "Satin Sheets".
