I've also been using hair bands for years with no casualties. I did have a very light acoustic guitar crash to the floor (no damage!) when a wall anchor came out on a string swing mount. So now whenever I can't mount a string swing to a stud I use a horizontal piece of wood, which is mounted to studs. Then I mount the string swing to the wood strip.
However, the hair bands are for my lighter and smaller instruments. My lap 8 uses a short, strong bungee cord. Nearly two years now, no problems. |

| When band pics were taken years ago, I posed in playing position, with my right hand going through the guitar. I used to take that to gigs occasionally, along with my Transonic 100 amp. Sold the amp to Nashville picker George Bradfute when he was playin' with Wilder. |

Ray Montee's wall of fame is a real specatcle! Fantastic.
If you read this Ray, can you comment on the differences in the instruments?
It is pleasing to know that there are avid collectors (who are also discerning musicians) out there protecting these instruments. With the bulk of attention and value directed towards conventional guitar collectables one might worry that such beautiful instruments are falling by the wayside or into oblivion. I am happy that this string has done its small part and given pause to reconsider.

Three, 7-string Ricks: Two have single volume knobs and one has two on the audience side.
SIX, 6-string Ricks: One has a single volume knob;
another has both knobs on the audience side; four have two knobs, one on either side of the pickup.
THREE, Panda models....... with differing headstocks.
ONE, 8-string,Shot-Jackson/JERRY BYRD Fry Pan replica. (Formerly Don Davis)
ONE. 7-string Trotmore (formerly HOWARD WHITE's)
ONE, not in the photo's, an early 1930's Ric Fry Pan.
QUAD, Bigsby with six pedals, 8-strings.
Dbl-10 Emmons with standard pedal set-up.
Dbl-10 Excel just recently acquired, no pedals.
JERRY BYRD mdl-Ric, 8-string, three legs.
The double-8 Ric seen in the photo was recently sold to a gentleman in Hawaii.
I'm not really a guitar collector....... I've long been a working musician and these were instruments I've always wanted throughout the years. Finally, I was fortunate to acquire them.
I have the Peavy Session 400 w/15", Peavy LA 400 with 12", VOLU-TONE amp w/8 or 10" Rolla speaker,
Oahu 8" Rolla Speaker, Harmony with 8" Rolla speaker,
Electar with 10" Jensen.
That's about it and enjoy them immensley.
