I recently installed Adobe Reader and somewhere in the install I didn't uncheck something and all my Band In A Box files are Adobe reader files and can't be opened. some are MGU files and Windows can't open these files. What do I need to do to get it straightened out. thanks Eddie

Open BIAB and find the preferences or options link. Use it to find a file association reset button and use it. This will reassociate your BIAB files with the program.

If there is an option to alert you if another program changes the associations, check it. Apply the changes and exit the preferences.

Hi Wiz
I've looked thru all the Options/Preferences and there is no reset button or anything to highlight to change it back into a BIAB file. Any other suggestions? Thanks Eddie

Hi Eddie,

Find a BIAB file with a MGU extension. Right click it and then do a "mouse-over" on OPEN WITH.

You'll see ICONs with program names. You might even see the BIAB Icon.

Do not choose BIAB yet if you see it.
You must click on CHOOSE PROGRAM...

A new window pops up.
You will see a sentence that says: "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file."
Add a tick mark in the box next to this sentence.

Then choose the BIAB icon if you see it. If you don't see it, you'll have to use the BROWSE button and find it.

That's it.

You need to do this for ALL other BIAB file extensions like SGU etc.

Good luck!
